McCarthy Lodge and Ma Johnson’s Hotel
Historic lodge with shared baths located in downtown McCarthy with authentic period décor, onsite fine and casual dining, full bar, liquor store, and a great atmosphere. Rooms are small and thin walled, without locks on the doors or power outlets in the rooms, but they more than make up for it with luxury amenities. Currant Ridge Cabins
Located about 3 miles from the Kennicott River on the McCarthy Road, their private cabins include an outdoor deck and sitting area with a BBQ, a full kitchen, private bath, and mountain views, plus a communal large and comfortable lawn area. These beautiful cabins are great for the visitors that would like to “get away from the crowds”. You must have your own car (or other transportation) to stay at Currant Ridge Cabins. Blackburn Cabins
Private cabins located a mile from Downtown McCarthy. Each cabin is tastefully decorated with period decor and has a small kitchenette with a small sink and a cooktop. Shared outdoor bathroom and shower facilities, fire pits, and BBQ’s. Bikes available for use to get to and from Kennicott or McCarthy towns.

Wonderful glamping experience in a canvas wall tent accented with log frames and cedar decks and fitted with luxury linens. Located about a mile from the footbridge, it would be best if you had your own vehicle to stay here (not intended for stays if you flew or took a shuttle). Hot showers, clean outhouse, and a shared pavilion to enjoy the amazing views

McCarthy Cabins
Located 4.5 miles from the footbridge, these cabins require you to have your own transportation. Beautiful and authentic private Alaskan cabins makes you feel like you are living like a local. They are fully and well furnished and have the ability to cook basic meals with a propane cook top. Well maintained outhouses and hot showers are included. There is a “pack it in pack it out” policy, so be prepared to haul out your own garbage and left over food. If you are looking for a quiet cabin experience, make sure to check these out.

A local favorite is Tiny Cabins. Located in the heart of McCarthy, these historic log cabins are run by a lovely couple, and all of the details are well looked after. You’d better be quick to book though, as they sell out quickly.
