Trip Description

A breathtaking bush plane flight past towering cliffs to an iceberg filled lake in the heart of the wrangells is just the start to this amazing adventure. The area is already stunningly beautiful and packrafts unlock another dimension. Paddle among the icebergs to access a plethora of lakeside hikes. Sunbathe on the beach, paddle back in the afternoon light, and fly home in time for dinner.

Duration: 6-8 hrs
Difficulty: This day can be as easy or as challenging as you want it to be.

Trip Details

Terrain Challenges May Include:
Unstable and rocky hiking surfaces to the lake. Need to actively paddle your own packraft with a kayak paddle. Cold, glacial fed water.

Who:
Anyone looking to combine a flight see and paddle and a hike in a remote location.

When:
Mid-June to September 15th.
Start time depends on flight availability, logistics and your preferences.

Where:
We will meet you at your lodging or at the footbridge ½ hour before your flight time and provide transportation to the airstrip.

Trip Includes
  • Alpacka packraft, paddle, drysuit, PFD, drybag, river gloves, river shoes and river socks.
  • Experienced, friendly, knowledgeable guides!
  • Small or custom client to guide ratios.
  • Round-trip transportation from your local lodging to where we begin our trip.
  • A full array of medical, communications, and technical gear.
  • Extra layers if you forgot anything or couldn’t fit it in your luggage!
