Hike and Packraft

Trip Description

This full-day packraft adventure delivers maximum value and deep immersion in Wrangell–St. Elias National Park. Your day begins with packraft gear loaded into your backpack as you hike through boreal forest, over rolling ridges, and along the edge of the Kennicott Glacier Lake.

Where the glacier meets the lake, the landscape transforms into a constantly shifting zone of ice, water, and melt channels—an area only accessible by packraft. After a brief skills introduction, you’ll paddle through glacial canals, drift past sculpted ice formations, and explore the quiet, mid-melt world that few visitors ever reach.

With towering alpine scenery in every direction, this trip blends hiking, packrafting, and exploration into one unforgettable day of adventure through land, water and ice.
