Backpacking Point-to-Point
Backpacking Point-to-Points in the Wrangells are what you want backpacking to be.
Starting in one remote location and traveling to another, through wild terrain only accessible by foot, makes these trips both committing and rewarding.
Navigate without trails, see few people (if any), and camp in places nobody has camped before. Experience for yourself why they call this land the last frontier.
Backpacking Point-to-Points can be supported by flights to remote backcountry locations on both ends of the trip, or trips can start or end in Kennicott-McCarthy. You will need to be able to carry a pack on these trips that range from 35 – 50 lbs through a variety of terrain.
Trip duration represents a range in which the shortest trip moves camp every day, and the longest has built-in layover days for rest, or day hikes with light packs. We recommend giving yourself ample time to take full advantage of being out there.
