Packraft Course Level 2

Trip Description

If you want to hone your existing packraft abilities or practice your whitewater rescue skills in a practical setting, then KWG’s Level 2 is for you. This course is designed for someone who has prior whitewater paddling experience in a packraft or kayak. We utilize a variety of outdoor venues (flatwater to CL III) to finetune paddle strokes, build confidence in boat maneuvers, and learn to play in the river. We focus on the skills needed to navigate the wild rivers around us: river reading, rescue philosophy, risk assessment and boat control. Drills include swimming in moving current, performing advanced maneuvers in moving current, and paddling CL III whitewater.

Downriver Day: On the 3rd optional day of the course you can take your newly tuned skills out on the CL III McCarthy Creek and Kennicott Rivers ($200 per person for the third day).
