We are small, independently operated guide service based in a remote region of Alaska. When you book with us, we immediately begin reserving guides, shuttles, aircraft, and lodging on your behalf. Cancellations impact not only our team but also our local partners.
We understand that life happens. If unexpected circumstances arise, please reach out. While we cannot guarantee exceptions, we will always do our best to work with guests whenever possible.
Day Trips
Deposit
A 50% deposit is required to secure your reservation.
Final Payment
The remaining balance is due 7 days prior to departure and will be automatically charged to the card on file unless paid manually beforehand.
Cancellations

More than 7 days before departure → Full refund

3–6 days before departure → 50% refund of total trip cost

Within 3 days of departure → No refund

No-shows → Full trip price charged
If KWG must cancel a day trip for any reason, you will receive a full refund.
Backcountry & Package Trips
Deposit
A 50% deposit is required to secure your reservation. This includes transportation and lodging if KWG is arranging those services on your behalf.
Final Payment
The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to departure.
Cancellations

More than 60 days before departure → Full refund of deposit minus a $250 per person administrative fee

30–60 days before departure → Deposit retained

Within 30 days of departure → No refund
Future Credit Option
Instead of canceling, you may apply 100% of payments made toward a future trip within 12 months of your original departure date.
If this option is selected, all payments become non-refundable and transferable only to a future booking within that 12-month window.
Transportation & Lodging Arrangements
Trips involving third-party reservations (air taxis, lodging partners, shuttles, etc.) may be subject to additional cancellation policies. These terms will be clearly outlined at the time of cancellation.
KWG is not responsible for cancellation terms set by third-party providers.
Trip Interruptions & Weather
Alaska weather is unpredictable, particularly on trips involving bush flights or backcountry travel. Delays, reroutes, or itinerary changes may occur due to weather or safety considerations.
In the event of weather-related changes:

There are no refunds for shortened or altered itineraries.

We will assist in adjusting logistics when possible.

KWG is not responsible for additional expenses incurred (including airline changes, additional lodging, or transportation costs).
We strongly encourage guests to purchase comprehensive travel insurance that includes trip cancellation, interruption coverage, medical evacuation, and weather-related disruptions.
