Glacier’s Edge Hike

Trip Description

This hike stays off the ice and gives you a glimpse into some of the most active and rapidly changing areas in the vicinity!  A huge glacial lake, collapsing ice towers, and deep gorges characterize this very dynamic part of the valley.

We’ll teach you about the natural history if you are interested, and if we’re lucky we’ll spot some wildlife in this less-frequented area.  This is an easier hike then our glacier hikes, and is a perfect hike for those clients who are interested in learning about the dramatic dynamics of glaciers and glacial ecology at a relaxed pace without the crowds.

There are a number of different areas that we can visit in this timeframe, so contact us to discuss what you are most interested in and your guide can prepare a list of subjects to share.
