2010 Alaska Mountaineering

Alaska skiing - Valdez backcountry touring
Before descending a 3,000 vertical feet snow slope

This world famous heli-skiing mecca is also home to some amazing ski touring.

The Eastern Chugach mountains are truly breathtaking, with some of the longest, steepest lines that you'll find anywhere. The snow here is known for its maritime quality, which allows it to stick to steep slopes better than drier snow ever could. And, its location near moisture-rich Prince William Sound means that you could be playing in upwards of 30 feet of snow!! If 3,000 - 5,000 vertical feet of 40 - 50 degree slopes sound good to you, this is where you'll want to go.

KWG can guide you to the best powder stashes as well as arrange lodging, transportation and heli-skiing.
