Mount Sanford elevation profile

This remote Alaskan giant offers an "easier" mountaineering challenge than some of its neighbors. The climb is non-technical in nature but does present crevasse hazards, and the cold, altitude, wind, and splendor are no less intense than the other big peaks in the Wrangells. The route is also a longer one, so be physically prepared for this one! Because of its low grade of technical difficulty, Sanford is a great first big mountain expetition.

Sanford offers dramatic views of the Alaska Range, Wrangell Mountains, and the Alaskan landscape. Our climb will entail glacier travel, cramponing and Alaskan mountaineering at its finest.
